Barcelona hosted the Microsoft Tech Ed 2007 conference during the first week of November, as with last year, Compsoft developers were there to explore the latest in software technology. During the week long event, representatives from Microsoft and their innovation partners demonstrated new and exciting advances made. To compensate the business for sending the developers to Barcelona, they agreed to provide regular updates in the Compsoft blog.

Technical Director Richard Thomason was initially overwhelmed by the choice of sessions. He said “It seemed difficult to choose presentations so I decided to do some Equinox V testing, and knocked up a quick application to help me do the job! After an effective hack job to divide up the presentations and their details, I soon had a list by thread that I wanted to go to, to make sure everything was covered! Job done.”

Senior Developer Tim Jeanes was excited by the prospect of returning to the developer-focused event; “It's great to be back in Barcelona again this year, with its heady mix of sangria, pickpockets and syntactical highlighting in Javascript.” Prominent through Tech Ed were new releases of old favourites; Visual Studio and SQL Server, Tim was impressed by Visual Studio 2008: “It supports multi-targetting. This means you can easily switch your solution between versions of the .NET framework: 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5.”
