The Compsoft Workshop

A Compsoft Workshop is where a team from Compsoft spends time at your company; getting to understand your business, examining existing processes, proposing new ideas, and agreeing with you what development work you need. Workshops work best when we can meet people from many different areas of the business, sit with staff as they talk on the phone to customers, and shadow key personnel carrying out their job roles. We then produce a full technical specification based on the Workshop, and, if appropriate, a fixed-price proposal for the work to be carried out.

Development Team Involvement

At Compsoft we have been developing software for 28 years. We know that it is possible to build an application based on a loose specification resulting from a couple of meetings with sales personnel. However, we also know that such systems are rarely built on time, are hardly ever built to budget, and never fully meet the client’s needs first time around. A Workshop instead enables the actual developers and project management team to examine your business in detail with you, and to produce a highly focused specification. In turn, this means that whatever we build for you will have been properly thought through, accurately priced and had appropriate time allowed for completion.

The Benefits of a Workshop

In addition to providing a roadmap for Compsoft to undertake development work, there are a number of further benefits to having a Compsoft Workshop. Firstly, just the act of going through your business processes and discussing them in detail is often beneficial. Secondly, because Compsoft provides technical people, in addition to business-minded people, there is substantial benefit in discussing how the latest technology could work for your business. Thirdly, the resulting specification belongs to you, and can be used for any purpose.

The Workshop

We offer a range of Workshop durations to cover a wide variety of needs, starting with a 1 day Workshop and increasing to a 4 day Workshop. Although the typical Workshop is 2 days in duration, it doesn't stop there; for each Workshop there is also several days spent by Compsoft producing the detailed specification and proposal. This is included in the price.

How Much Does it Cost?

The cost is as follows:

• 1 day workshop £1,495 + VAT
• 2 day workshop £2,495 + VAT
• 4 day workshop £3,995 + VAT
• Expenses incurred will be charged at cost.
