Compsoft Announces new Managing Director
Alton, Hampshire, 1 November 2005. Compsoft today announced the appointment of Phil Lenton as the new Managing Director of Compsoft Plc, replacing Keith Parrish who joined the company as Managing Director in 1998 and who has taken up the position of Commercial Director at Mirago Plc, Compsoft`s sister company.
Lenton joined Compsoft in 1999 as a consultant working on bespoke application development, using the in-house tool Equinox. His technical knowledge combined with his obvious enjoyment in interacting with people made him a well-known face amongst customers and resellers alike. In 2000 he was appointed as joint head of the Consultancy Department, and in 2002 was given a place on the Board as Director of Consultancy. From 2003 to 2005 Lenton completed an Executive MBA at London Business School whilst remaining at Compsoft, resulting in a change of job role in 2004 to Sales & Marketing Director.
Commenting on the appointment, Lenton said "Compsoft is a fantastic company with a long heritage, a loyal customer base, and dedicated staff. I`m looking forward to taking the company forward, focusing particularly on our expertise and excellent track record with high-growth, typically early-stage companies.".
Compsoft Plc was started in 1979 and for a long time focused purely on the development of database management and programming tools. In the 1990`s it branched out into bespoke application development, building highly specialised database systems for a variety of different companies. Today, as well as still selling the highly popular development tool Equinox, Compsoft builds leading-edge bespoke solutions using a wide range of different 3rd party and in-house tools.
